K. Schneid.) is a fruit crop widely cultivated throughout the Mediterranean basin. In Spain, it mainly grown eastern regions country. March 2018, 5-year-old nectarine trees showing twig canker symptoms were observed after rainy spring period 0.5-ha orchard located at Alaior, Menorca island (Spain). Cankers frequent on affected (approximately 80% total trees), thus leading shoot blight. Ten segments 1-year-old wood cankers cut, washed under running tap water, surface disinfected 1 min 1.5% sodium hypochlorite solution, rinsed twice sterile distilled water. Small pieces (2 mm) tissues taken from margin plated potato dextrose agar (PDA) supplemented 0.5 g/liter streptomycin sulfate. The plates then incubated 25°C dark 7 10 days. Actively growing colonies first hyphal-tipped transferred PDA 2% water pine needles 21 22°C 12-h/12-h near-UV/darkness cycle days (León et al. 2020). Colonies white first, becoming light cream, visible solitary aggregate pycnidia maturity. Alpha conidia aseptate, fusiform, hyaline, multiguttulated (mean ± SD = 7.4 0.7 × 2.8 0.4 µm, n 100). Beta gamma not observed. morphological cultural characteristics isolates congruent those spp. (Gomes 2013). ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 (ITS) region fragments ?-tubulin (tub2), translation elongation factor 1-alpha (tef1-?) gene regions, histone H3 (his3), calmodulin (cal) genes representative isolate DAL-59 amplified sequenced (Santos 2017). BLASTn analysis revealed 100% similarity sequences mediterranea (synonym amygdali) (Hilário 2021) DAL-34 almond (ITS, MT007489; tub2, MT006686; tef1-?, MT006989; his3, MT007095; cal, MT006761). Sequences deposited GenBank database MT007491; MT006688; MT006991; MT007097; MT006763). Pathogenicity tests conducted using potted plants cultivar Boreal, which inoculated DAL-59. each plant, 3-mm wound was made center main branch (about 30-cm length) scalpel.
